![]() ![]() It hits all the right buttons that Grand Bazaar and Island of Happiness couldn’t, and gives the player tons to do without ever feeling stale. Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns gave me back my farming dream. The Easiest Gifts List can be a useful tool in this respect. In addition, Two Towns doesn’t have the awkward sound effects found in Grand Bazaar, which is a definite change for the better. Any Item in Harvest Moon can be detested by one Individual and loved by another, so you need to know when to give an Item and when to withhold it. Using simple inexpensive Items that are plentiful and can be given to a number of Characters is a good strategy in any Harvest Moon or Rune Factory game.Īmong these inexpensive Gifts are Wildflowers such as Magic Blue Flower or Moondrop, Butterflies, Locusts or other Insects, Small Fish of different varieties, Mushrooms of every type, Walnuts and even Branches or Stones. You can visit the other town you dont live in by traveling over the mountain. Each town has their own festivals, shops, and villagers. ![]() In most cases, a Most Favourite Gift may be a Cooked Dish or a very valuable and rare Item. At the beginning of the game you must choose which town you are going to live in Bluebell or Konohana. You can only get one upgrade a month and so that's about 10 hours of playing before you can upgrade anything else.Īnyway the game is awesome, farming is amazing, but there are some really weird design choices.Finding the Most Favourite Gift for any Individual and giving it to him or her can be very satisfying emotionally and it is worth more in terms of increase in Friendship but simple liked Gifts that are given to the same Character regularly ultimately will raise his/her Friendship Level to the same degree if not more. The biggest gripe with the game is the time gated upgrades. You start to spend your days managing your pathetically small inventory instead of doing anything else. On top of that now you can actually store your items permanently.Īt this point the game goes from you making ~500k a season to upwards of 10 MILLION in a single summer! At this point the game also turns in to the biggest inventory management mess ever. Suddenly you don't need to rely on Gombe to get seeds, you just save them from season to season. In Bluebell you'll find the animal ranching and flower shop, and Konohana has the crop seed shop. The request will come up again if you can't make the money in time, so don't worry too much. Both towns have a general goods shop, a food shop, and a pet shop. Five of the shops are in Bluebell Town, and four are in Konohana Town. That being said there's some pretty huge design flaws in the game but whats weird about it is that these flaws change constantly when you play the game.Īt the start of the game, the biggest frustrations are easily the shop store not selling the seeds/fertilizer you need, items depreciating and going rotten too fast, and the fact that WINNING at the cooking challenges prevents you from upgrading your farm.Īll of these get remedied once you get the seed maker (honestly the game becomes amazing once you get this) and the metal Chicken kart refrigerator in year 3 which prevents food from going bad. In Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns, there are nine shops to buy items from. Having trenches and being able to use fertilizer on all your crops pretty easily is great. I actually like the game so much I think because of the crop system. I'm currently on year 7 in the game and I still have a lot of fun with it. is there anyone else out there who loves it as much as i do? someone who /doesnt/ bash it in favor of the other 3ds games? Still, a tale of two towns holds a special place in my heart. unfortunately i cant find it in myself to play this game any longer. i give it props for making everything easier, though. the graphics are even worse for this game because of the shading and font style/size. i have all the basic countries unlocked and im practically rolling in dough because of the flax trick, but i just dont find it appealing. the character portraits and fonts were good, though. Ive played anb from start to end but i utterly hate the graphics. yes its extremely tedious and the fertilizer system (and the crop system in general) is downright terrible but i still prefer it over a new beginning and story of seasons. the graphics and art style are cute, and there's a charm to it i cant quite describe. Personally, tott is by far my favorite title in the franchise. ![]()
